Jackie joined the Hairdressing course from 2022 to 2024 and quickly became a cherished part of our community.

Jackie’s love and bond for Hollie and her animals were evident in every conversation. She spoke of them with the kind of tenderness that resonated with all of us
She stood out, not just as a student but as a beacon of encouragement and motivation for everyone around her.

Jackie excelled in everything she did, she received overall Portlaoise Institute Student of the year in 2023, due to her amazing work and determination.

Jackie took it upon herself to be the nurturing presence of the class, embodying a motherly role that was felt by all.
Her bright, ever-present smile lit up any room she entered, and her kind, caring, and sensitive nature left a lasting impression. Her positive outlook and tireless work ethic inspired everyone who knew her.

Her lighthearted aversion to technology made computer class with Fintan a source of laughter and connection.
Despite her initial fears, she faced each challenge with humor and determination and every small victory was celebrated with a chocolate treat, much to her delight.

On behalf of the hairdressing class, we will miss Jackie dearly. We are grateful for the time we had with her, for her unwavering support, and for the inspiration she provided that pushed us to be our best selves.

Jackie, you will always hold a special place in our hearts.

Dear Holly, I am heartbroken to hear about your beloved Mum. One of the highlights of my week was to spend time with Jackie when she did my hair in Frankies, loved our chats about anything & everything & of course both our parents connection to Birmingham. Such a gentle kind person, I always walked out feeling all the better for having spent time in her company.
