My deepest sympathies go to the family of Jim Ahern.

Mr Ahern was my teacher at Inchicore NS, he was the only person to ever succeed in making school enjoyable and fun. He was truely a gentleman and a role model who always went the extra mile to teach myself and many others not only knowledge, but important life lessons. He told me to always smile, even if things dont seem so bright. I am still inspired by everything he taught me and the wonderful person that he was. He was absolutely one of a kind and will forever remain in my heart. Miss you always Jimmy <3 x x x

Dear Jim,
It´s hard for me to find the right words and I´m terribly sorry. You had a great sense of humor and always seemed to be happy and full of life. I remember the time when you were in our garden watching the hawks. You loved the nature, the people and your job and your children! You will be missed very much by all of us.
Ingrid

I feel so lucky to have met you and shared so many happy times with you. No trip to Dublin will ever be the same and no school visit will ever be as happy and full of laughter as the ones we had in your company. You were a star Jim and every minute we shared with you was always a happy one. Your one liners, sayings and jokes will always be with me. The children of Inchicore were so lucky to have you as a teacher and we your friends from Wales, Austria and Italy will always remember you as a very, very special person. Cysga'n dawel Jim. I had Mr Ahern in 5th class. He was the best teacher i ever had. He was a good friend of my mams and he used to admire me to her. I hope he realised the admiration was mutual. MR Ahern always encouraged us to follow our dreams and he made my year in school the best ever. I left just before he retired but I'm sure Inchicore ns was a duller place to be without his smile and good humour roaming the corridors. MR Ahern , I hope your resting with the angels tonight. Heaven is a brighter place tonight because your in it. RIP X
James may you rest in peace.

I am truely devastated to hear such terrible news. He was an amazing man, and teacher. One of the kindest, friendliest and genuine men I've ever know. You helped me so much throughout primary school, like many others, and I don't know how to thank you. And I will never get the chance to properly. Heaven has got a real angel on their hands. God bless you Mr. Ahern. You were and still are an inspiration. Rest in peace.
