So sorry Tony to hear of your Dad’s passing, and I send my sincere condolences to you.
The happiest memories from my youth, are the times spent with Him and Nora in Drumcondra and Glasnevin. He was a true gentleman.

Solas na bFlaitheas da anam dílis.
Sincere Sympathy Tony on the passing of your Dad Jim . We have known Jim for many years as our accountant and good friend . Nora your mum used 2 visit our business with Jim while on her shopping trips 2 the city . They were a devoted couple . On his trips 2 Dublin later He always came 2 visit us ..As we joined with his friends online for his funeral Mass we were sad you could not be there . Our thoughts & prayers are with you .
Deepest sympathy to Tony and the extended family on the passing of Jim - a true professional and always such a perfect gentleman.
I was a very junior and inexperienced articled clerk in James A Strickland and Company many years ago. Jim was most generous with his time and was a caring and very patient mentor as was Nora who also spent some time in the office.
His quiet kindness to me was the beginning of my career and the foundation stone of a profession in accountancy that has spanned a lifetime. The fact that I still think of Jim as a role model almost fifty years later is testament to his character.
The office in College Green and later in Dun Laoghaire was always a harmonious and a very pleasant place in which to work under his leadership.
May he rest in peace and it may give you some comfort to know how he was held in such high esteem.
Ar Dheis Dé go raibh a anam dilis.
