So shocked and saddened to hear the terrible news of Jimmy’s passing. My sympathy to all his loved ones.

Your Mum and Dad were friends of ours from way back and We have great happy memories of the two of them .I was shocked to learn of Jimmy’s death too late to attend his funeral but hope that wherever they are that Rhea , Jimmy , David and Aoife are all together again . May they all rest in peace .

Was astonished last Wednesday to learn of Jimmy's passing through an email from Clongowes. Thankfully, I was directly able to observe the funeral through streaming. Lovely service. Knew Jim was facing health challenges, but no idea his decline was so precipitous. As Kieran noted at his funeral, however, Jim was always looking to the next day and the light ahead. Tremendously strong, and he wanted to make sure others were OK and not concerned about him.

Jimmy and I were classmates at Clongowes 1963-64, and we continued as mates over the years in Dublin and America up until we last spoke a number of months ago. I well remember staying overnight several times at the family's home above Baker's Corner when we were boys. My sincere condolences extend to Ciara and Allison, all of the grandkids, Michael, Mary and Dennis. Jimmy will always be missed.

Deepest condolences to Ciara, Allison and the extended Baker family - especially to Jimmy's grandchildren here and in Australia - at this very sad time. We knew Jimmy, and Aoife, from Scoil Lorcáin where he was often at the school gate collecting Aibhlínn. He was a totally devoted and loving Grandad, and such a lovely man to have a chat with! We often bumped into Jimmy on his many walks along the seafront over the last few years, and it was always great to see him and get his news. He was such a kind, warm man - and so young at heart! He is gone far too soon....
