James Bernard Shanahan

My deepest condolences to the Shanahan family and Margaret.

Bernard and I soldiered together in J&J Limerick (Vistakon) through many good and sometimes challenging days.
He was always great to work with.
No matter how much pressure we were all under, he was guaranteed to make you laugh every time.
Sadly we lost touch in recent years but I’m truly shocked to hear of his loss.

I will always remember your big loud laugh, you Rogue😁

Just heard today of Bernard’s passing. I have such fond memories of his time with us in Vision Care (Vistakon) in Limerick. He was a great leader, a people’s person and we had fun whilst we worked together. Sincerest condolences to his family and friends. May Bernard Rest In Peace 🙏

My fabulous cousin, the man who bought me my first tape (Abba), used me instead of a barbell, drove me the morning of my wedding, was my son’s Godfather, the man who I stayed up way too late with, laughed with, cried with, my friend Bernard. I am Mateo's aunt. Today we mourn Bernard, but I also want to express my gratitude on behalf of my family. Bernard was an important member in our family as the paternal figure of Mateo and as a dear friend of Carmen.
