Hilary, So sorry to hear of your Dad Cyril's passing. We have such fond memories of him when he stayed with us for the Galway races. He was a great character so full of fun and a great entertainer always got the sing song going.

We enjoyed spending time with him and Nancy on their many trips to Australia. Loved to hear him sing, always would bring a smile to your face.

Rest in Peace Cyril. You were always so active and cheerful. We could always depend on you to start the "Sing Song" at the outings and overnights. "Dublin can be Heaven with coffee at eleven" and "Thank Heavens" got us all in the mood.

We have the happiest of memories of the times we shared with "the smiler" in Railway Union Cricket. We particularly remember Cyril leading the post match late evening sing songs when cricket was about much more than just winning at all costs, Cyril had a lovely tenor voice and could sing light opera and musical numbers, some nights it was hard to stop him!
I don't have quite the same warmth regarding my memories of Cyril accepting my losing bets on the tote at Leopardstown.
Cyril was a kind, and gentle, man who we were all happy to call our friend.
