James DUDLEY

Rowena, James was a once off. He was all the things people have said here and more. He played a really important part in my life. However, what really struck home was that he left such an impression on the next generation. It was my kids and other younger colleagues who were most upset which demonstrates the mark he left which will remain long afterwards. As for driving his bubble cars in the parade, and his driving lessons, this still terrifies me. Our belated condolences to all the Dudley’s.

Dear Rowena, Kirsten and Dominic, Deepest sympathies and condolences to you all on the death of James. James was a brilliant, inspiring and generous mentor, colleague and friend. I learnt a great deal about law, the best professional standards, ingenious drafting and problem solving, fine French wine and bubble cars - all delivered with enthusiasm, kindness, wisdom and the vital energy that James brought to everything he did.

I had the pleasure of knowing James from my time working in the Bank. He was a true gentleman and a remarkable Lawyer and one of the most intelligent men I worked with in the legal profession.

My sympathy at this sad time

I was saddened to hear of James's passing. He was the main adviser to Hill Samuel Bank in Ireland and was relied upon heavily for his sound counsel. He was highly regarded for his positivity and warm personality. I'm sure I also speak for my co-directors, some of whom have already passed. My sincere condolences to his family. May he rest in peace.

Deepest sympathies to you Rowena and your family on the loss of James. To many of us, he was a great work colleague and partner, a very fine knowledgeable and solutions orientated lawyer, a fellow petrol head (his penchant for those three wheelers was legendary), a true gent and great fun. While his passing fills us with much sadness, we are so enriched by having known him.
