Deepest sympathy to brother Frank and to the entire family of a wonderful man whom I was fortunate to share friendship with for sixty years.
He was so keen on golf that he became animated when I started to plan the links of The European Club and walked the land with me and we sat on a dune overlooking the beach and what was to become holes 12 and 13. I have never passed the way without thinking of him.
If there is golf beyond I look forward to more chats.

Mary, Frank and the extended Bowen family, I was very sorry to learn that Jimmy had died. I have very fond memories of working with him first in the Friends Provident and subsequently at 26 Marlboro Street before his move to Dublin. It was always interesting. Our sincere condolences to all of the Bowen family.
We were so pleased to get to know him over the years.
His love of golf, good food and fine wine was only eclipsed by his love of his family and he was never happier than when he was surrounded by his grandchildren.
One of nature's true "characters".
He will be sadly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Our thoughts are with you all during this sad time.
Much love from Chris & Sue xx

Sincere sympathy to the Bowen family on Jimmy's passing. My early golfing involvement was developed by his willingness to share his knowledge of the game. I recall the times he invited me to Cork Golf Club to play and introduce me to many great players of his era. The last time we met was 2017 when he was interviewed on his memories of Cork Golf Club for the "Time Capsule Project". My late father Gus and his good friend the late Jim Morley were great admirers of Jimmy's golfing ability and both always spoke highly of his dedication and enthusiasm.
Deepest condolences to Andrew and Cian. May he rest in peace.
