It was such a pleasure to have known Jem,
I enjoyed many chats with him about the family history while building the family Tree
(Plucks ,Byrnes ,Kanes),
Remembering the smile he would give me when he’d be telling me stories of his childhood and my grandmother (his aunt Suzie)
I done a piece of recording with Dunlaoghaire Rathdown in association with UCD about old Dunlaoghaire family’s in which I mention Jem and the stories he shared
From the land to the sea
Great tales of a humble childhood helping his grandfather on the boats in Dunlaoghaire to getting the bus to Ringsend the bus fair was 2 shillings ,he remembered that ,to get his first job on a fishing boat
