James (Jim) Brady

Deepest sympathies to Mary and to Jim's family. As his godson, I had many great memories and life lessons from him particularly in my youth at the house overlooking Cobh during the summers. Ones that I will cherish forever. May he rest in Peace.

I am so sorry Mary to hear of Jim's passing. My condolences to you, his siblings and his extended family. As a brother-in-law, I had the privilege of us sharing the roles of Grooms-man and Best-man at each others wedding.

Uncle Jim, I was really sad to hear of your passing. Jim Brady, a character for sure! A busy mind full of books and stories. I remember visiting you and Mary at your shop in town, choosing our sweets. I remember helping put the food in the cupboards when you brought the weekly box of groceries up for Nanny Brady. I remember the bookstalls in Mother red caps with aunty Mary and of course we (Annette’s kids) got to know you more when you set up stall in Fairyhouse market. My uncle Jim was an Extraordinary man, whos Tales of his life in the Navy, made it to Print.
His passion for Books was Evident in his fast Collection.
Jim had a book stall in Fairyhouse market and I would pop over to say Hi Every sun. JIM ALLWAYS HAD A smile and a tail to tell, never the same twice.
I remember my uncle Jim now, Tall and funny and taking 2hours to set up his stall,and 3 hours to repack his Van on a sunday. YOU will be missed Jim . Sleep well Jim.
