James (Jim) Flynn

My sincere condolences to all of you at this very difficult time. So sorry to hear of Jims passing. May he rest in peace.

I've known Jim since I was very young. I remember my Dad, PJ, and I would regularly meet up with him on Saturdays at Eddie Rockets in The Square before heading to the cinema. My Dad and Jim were great friends through sculpture. My Dad helped out with many of his personal projects and historical interests (some more questionable than others!).

He helped my parents with the purchase of their home; in turn, he helped me with the purchase of my home. He helped get my wife into the country. He gave me my first job after I figured the aul music wasn't cutting it anymore. He helped lay the foundation for many of my milestones.

He was a truly great man and I don't think I will come across anyone as generous with their time as he was. Long may he rest in peace.

Carmel, Jonathan and family, I am very sorry for your loss. To say Jim was a fighter, would be an understatement! He helped a lot of people in often very difficult circumstances. He was great to me and there would not be a call or conversation that he did not ask for the children. Whilst he had an array of talents and interests, he was always happiest when talking about Carmel, Jonathan and the grandchildren. We are very sorry for your loss. I will forever be a deep admirer and remain profoundly grateful for having had the privilege of meeting such an extraordinary individual. Jim was truly an exceptional person—kind, inspiring, and compassionate. It was impossible not to be moved by his immense heart. He possessed a unique ability to bring joy to others, and the positive impact he had on everyone he encountered will never be forgotten. Jim was, without a doubt, one of my greatest supporters and a constant source of inspiration.
