We are so very sorry to learn of James’s death. Very fond memories of playing with James, Kevin, Susan and Matthew before getting on or off the school bus at the Green. Good fun with lovely neighbours. Our sincere sympathies to all the Hannigans and extended family.

I attended Jim's funeral mass on the curragh as someone that encountered his kindness some years ago. Fr.P.J. conducted a beautiful ceremony and had some lovely kind words. Also Jim's brother and a work colleague spoke at length about this kind gentle man. The choir and music from Owen Lynch paid a fitting tribute to the beautiful ceremony.Finally I would like to pay tribute to our defence forces that sadly had to lay to rest a loyal college and loyal servant of the state.I offer my deepest sympathy to all of Jim's family on your sad loss.

I served with Jim on the 76th Irish Batt in Lebanon. He was definitely a Gentleman Jim. A great character and a decent fellow.
