Jim was a great friend and a great community man.
I want to particularly acknowledge the work he did for the parish. His fundraising skill was legendary and he taught me a lot. His advice and his commitment helped achieve so many things in our parish, whether it was the refurb of Ladychapel and St Mary’s, or the building of the Pastoral Centre. I know he will continue to work from the other side to get his sought after marble pulpit in Ladychapel!
Above all of this he was a great family man, and our sincere condolences to Ann and all the family who will miss him so much. Your consolation is the wonderful memories and the stunning legacy he has left behind. The greatest of these is his family legacy. Quoting the words of the song at his funeral ‘starting out there was just (Ann and Jim), now we have our own crew’.
May he rest in peace, a life well lived.
