So sorry to hear of Jim's passing. Remember him well back in the 1970s when I joined in Aug 1972. Brilliant winger. Heather was brilliant on the ladies committee back then also.

Heather, John, Dave and Andy, I've just heard the sad news of Jim's death and would like to convey my sincere sympathies to all of you. Jim was such a great character, always interesting and full of energy and enthusiasm. His celebrations, post mortems and video analysis of the athletic events (especially the relays!) when the lads were representing St. Brigid’s School at Santry were legendary!!

A legend in Palmerston when I joined in the late 1960’s. The sincerity and warmth in his welcome are an abiding memory which will live on. Sincere condolences to Heather, John, David, Andrew and the entire Maher family. It was with hugh sadness that news reached us at the rugby club of James passing. A fantastic rugby person who I had the pleasure of meeting on numerous occasions in DLSP. James was fondly remembered by all last night and we as his rugby club will be poorer without him. An absolute gentleman, James and Heather were great supporters of the club and we will miss him. You are in all our thoughts at this difficult time as you grieve for James. May he rest in peace.
