He was a lovely neighbour here on Ballygall Avenue, who I've only really gotten to know over the last 10 years. I was away on holiday for the last 2 weeks and only found out today about his passing, when another neighbour saw the hearse stopping outside his house and texted me.
May James rest in peace.

Rest in peace Great Uncle James and Up The Dubs
Deepest sympathy to Jim's family. I knew Jim, as a friend, for more than 50 years. Jim was an 'old school' bookmaker; honourable and fearless.

He was also a shrewd card-player. Life deals us all a hand of cards; when you live as long as Jim, you've played the hand you were dealt very well.

Well done, Jim. Enjoy your eternal reward.

Mick Murphy, Drumcondra and Family.
