One month on, thinking of you a lot Jim. You were a consummate gentleman, but always with a twinkle in your eye. I have nothing but good memories of you.Thanks for the laughs and for being so kind, and thank you for Fiona! I hope you and Ev are smiling on us all, somewhere good.

My sincere sympathy to all the O'Beirne family on the passing of Jim. Our paths crossed a few years ago in Dubray bookshop. Over a cup of tea one day he offered to sketch a portrait for me. I now have a wonderful ink drawing of my grandmother whom I never met and whose photograph happened to be with me that day. What riches come from chance encounters.
