Very sorry for you all on your loss. Jim always had some witty aphorism for you if you met him going or coming from his swim in Keadeen. If you asked him how he was, his reply would reckon that how he was "was better than the alternative." He never failed to entertain those of us who met him on those mornings.

I was so sorry to hear this news. Jim was always a great supporter of my work as an historian and author and he had been exceptionally kind to my son when he met him in 2016. Jim and I had plans to meet up some time ago but illness got in the way. I had been so looking forward to our chat and will always regret that it didn't happen. We were very proud of him in Mitchelstown. He was one of the greatest of his generation. Ar dheis lámh Dé go raibh a anam dílis.

To Diarmuid and Family,
My sincerest sympathies to you on the loss of your father. The loss of a parent is extremely difficult but I cannot even begin to imagine how distressing it is in the current circumstances.
I hope that in time you will have the opportunity to come together to celebrate everything he achieved in life, personally and professionally, and that you will be able to share many memories with family and friends.
Again, my deepest condolences.

Deepest commiserations to the Parker family Jim was a very euridate man and a canny golfer R I P
Jim was a much loved brother to my late husband Eddie (Ned) and travelled over to Oxford to see us all in good times but also when Eddie was ill and needed love and support. His love and interest in his extended family was there for all to see and we are all very sad that we will not get the opportunity to spend time with him again. Our last visit just after his 90th birthday was a very special time. Love to all his children, grandchildren and to his sister Nora, from Kathleen and all the family in Oxford xxx
To Eamonn and the Parker family,
Sincere sympathy on the sad passing of your dad. May he rest in peace.
