I was shocked to learn of Jim’s death. I had the privilege of knowing him on a professional and social basis.

He was the ultimate expert on VAT in Ireland and his assistance in these matters was invaluable. If a serious VAT issue arose there was only one man to turn to. On one occasion in particular he rescued a potentially very serious situation. His advice was always concise and given with great clarity.

Socially he was brilliant and very interesting company. I will miss our catch ups in Donehy & Nesbitts & the Castleknock Hotel
