My most sincere condolences to the Somers family. Jim and I worked together for the past few years. We worked together in the same team and had great chemistry. Even though we are far away in terms of location, working with Jim was always so easy and enjoyable. We had several projects together and his expertise and grace made everything simple and achievable. I will miss Jim very much! he was a huge part of our team and a huge reason why we were able to accomplish our goals.

Thank you Jim for all your help. We lost you way too early. We will miss you!

I am so saddened by the loss of Jim at such a young age. Truly, only the good die young. I only had the privilege of working with Jim for a short time, joining AIG in April 2020. Even though we only met over Zoom, Jim immediately touched me personally with his incredible grace and big heart. He was loved and respected by all for both his talent and for who he was, what he stood for. He always went above and beyond and he did it in his own quiet, humble way. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. We never get over this kind of loss, we just get through it.

We were lucky enough to move in next door to Aoife and Jim and we have become very good friends over the last few years. We have shared good times and bad times, nights out, "Socially distant " drinks and chats at the start of lockdown outside our homes, BBQ's and walks with our dogs. Jim was just the loveliest person, great company, a pure gentleman with a great sense of humour. The strength and dignity he showed throughout his illness was amazing. We will miss him terribly. Aoife, there are no words to tell you just how sorry we are. We know that Jim will look over you now during the difficult weeks and months ahead to give you strength. We are here for you always. May Jim Rest in Peace.

Deepest condolences and sympathy to the Somers family. Fondly remember Jim and always bought a smile to my face.

2. Jim was brilliant at his job and people need to understand that. It wasn’t just within Dublin but the work he did for London and the US which is evident by the messages and shock from his colleagues in those locations. He was always my ‘go to’ person and it turns out he was everyone’s ‘go to’ person too. I smile when remembering often telling Jim not to be so nice and learn how to say ‘no’, but that’s just the way he was…a true gentleman.
It still gives me pleasure that I stole him from the business but technology was always his destiny. He had all the right qualities, you could give him anything and he would learn it, become an expert, improve it and always deliver and have the patience to educate others. There are other notes on here about mentoring younger staff and this shouldn’t be a surprise with the impression he left.
When I think of Jim now, it’s not the recent Jim but the Jim from Lagoona or Kudos smiling, laughing and telling stories.

1. I felt it right to post a note about Jim and this forum seems appropriate but need to break them up.
I’ve worked with Jim for 18 years give or take and first and foremost, Jim was my friend more than a colleague. We’ve been together through the good including each others weddings and sometimes the not so good times. We were always able to speak to each other, confide and give each other advice. I also thought it coincidental having triplets and Jim himself being a triplet although he didn’t offer too much advice except knowing that they would have great adventures and an unbreakable bond forever. He loved his family and was proud of you all and would often give updates on brothers/sisters, nieces and nephews. He met his soulmate in Aoife, with fashion upgrades and an even bigger smile and settled into their beautiful home in Celbridge.

My heartfelt condolences to Jim's family. We will miss you. Rest in peace Jim.
