Sincere condolences to Marian and all the Turner family. What a lovely man Jim was. I persuaded Jim to sign for Carrigaline Utd soccer club when they were a 2nd division team in the Cork A.U.L. What a signing he proved to be. He regularly scored over 30 goals a season and 46 in 40 matches one season. Carrigaline went from the second division to the Premier division in a matter of 4 or 5 years thanks to Jim's goals in a very good team. We won leagues and cups every season on the way up. We were sorry to see him leave Carrigaline when his work transferred him to Fermoy. Thanks for your time with us and may you rest in peace Jim. You will be missed.

First met Jim when I had the tough task of marking him for St Michael’s Tipp vs Thurlus in FAI junior. He turned me inside out that day and gladly played with him in BOI teams later. Lovely person and a pleasure to be with.

I remember playing with Jim for Fermoy FC in the late 80"s and he was a very gifted centre half and a calming influence on the pitch. He always put in a great shift in the Fermoy colours and was a powerhouse on the floor and in the air. He will be sadly missed RIP Jim.
