Jimmy was a family man, but he was also a community man. He was a familiar face around the village of Dromore West, and always willing to get invovled. Whether it be partaking in a fundraiser, putting up Christmas lights or helping with the St Patricks Day Parade. He was also a key supporter in the years we hosted Darkness Into Light in the village; from helping put up signage and decorations, ensuring the walking route was safe and even getting up in the early hours to volunteer at the event. He was a bright light in our "Illumination Team".

Jimmy was always willing to roll up his sleeves and do what needed doing with a smile on his face, and everyone involved couldn’t help but enjoy a good laugh with him. His community spirit and willingness to help improve our community is something he passed on to his daughters Kirsty and Kelly.

He is a great loss to our community, and the village won't be the same without Jimmy Murphy.

To Ellen, Kirsty and Kelly, our thoughts and prayers are with you during the difficult days and weeks ahead. May you find consolation in knowing how fondly Jimmy was thought of in community, and in the kindness and support that surrounds you now.

May his kind soul Rest in Peace.

Jimmy worked on the TUS Scheme in Dromore West Community Centre. He was committed to any task he carried out and his craftmaship and skill as a painter shown in the various projects he worked on, including painting at the Church. He always had a smile on his face and many a laughs were had when Jimmy was around the Centre.

He was a good friend and neighbour to those in the village, and he will be missed by all who knew him.
