Jimmy began his working career on my father's farm in the early 60's. He was skillful, hardworking and very reliable. He kept us youngsters informed on world affairs and was very knowledgeable on space exploration which was in its infancy at that stage.
You are all in our thoughts and prayers at this sad and difficult time. May Jimmy's gentle soul rest in eternal peace.

Sincere condolences Jimmy's wife Kathleen and family in Scotland and to his brothers Tony and John on his sad passing. May he rest in peace. Jimmy worked on our farm in his late teen years and was a wonderful help to our parents. My late father had great time for him. I remember one time he and I visiting a neighbours farm at Xmas to 'borrow' a tree under the cover of darkness, all shady stuff. He looked like Elvis Presley and was very attractive to the ladies. They were a great family and his father was an excellent hurley maker. One Xmas 'Santa' left 4 hurleys at our house and they all had Jim O'Brien Hurley maker stamped on them. We never copped on. RIP Jimmy.
