Dear Gertrude, we are so so sorry for the huge loss you are having to come to terms with. Jimmy's funeral was a fitting tribute to the esteem he was held in and the warm love he showed to others and which was returned. You raised a beautiful family together. Sending you our love and prayers.
Margaret and Philip, All Hallows
Our deepest sympathies to Gertrude, Sue, Ian and all the family on the passing of Jimmy. He was such a lovely man and I have fond memories of his wonderful stories when I met him at Judy & Ken’s .. May He Rest In Peace ♥️
Sincere condolences to Gertrude, Susan, Ian, and all Jimmy's family. We lost touch over the years but I have very fond memories of Jimmy. Even the briefest of chats with him would leave you with the same spring in your step as he always had. He was so full of fun, wit and with a smile that would brighten up the darkest of days. Rest in peace Jimmy.
Everybody says the same things: he made us laugh, he was always kind, interested and caring... He loved singing and was a natural entertainer...
I hope we can emulate him and comfort each other, Gertrude, Susan and Ian, simply by doing what he would have done himself... So... Be it an old tune on the radio, a couple of steps of a tap dance, a terrible joke or checking up on someone who might need it, ... Long live the memory of Unlce Jimmy!

Deepest sympathy to Gertrude and family on Jimmys passing.
May he rest in peace.
I was so sad to hear of Jimmys passing, I've no idea where to even start about what a great man he was! He took me under his wing in Rolestown Panto when I started and knew very few people, he was always there with a smile and a reassurance when I forgot a line or maybe forgot to come on at all! Before all my performances he would squeeze my hand, give me that smile and say you've got this! Unfortunately we only kept in contact by Christmas cards and the odd call but he made a very big impact on me and will be dearly missed. His funeral today showed how many lives he touched along the way and was a testament to the man he was.
Look up, there is one big new star 🌟 shining called Jimmy. Condolences to his lovely wife and family.

Dear Gertrude and family, We are so sorry to hear of Jimmy's passing. We have fond memories of the time we spent with you when you were in Durban, South Africa. Jimmy was such a lovely man, a true gentleman. Know that you are in our thoughts and prayers at this very sad time. From Linda, Naomi and Sharee Basdeo (Caprani)
We met Jimmy in Rolestown panto many years ago, and he was one of the nicest, most good humoured people I've ever had the pleasure to meet! We performed in the panto together for years, and even when he wasn't on stage, he returned to lead the sing-song and help out. Jimmy was surrounded by laughter, he made people happy and was the loveliest gentleman. I can't imagine the loss his family feel, so our heartfelt wishes go to you all at his devastating loss.

Having enjoyed Jimmy's cheerful company in the Print Museum only 3 weeks ago at the launch of "Strange Types and Odd Sorts" it was with disbelief, shock and sorrow we learned of his passing. Even above the noise of the Mono, Lino and Wharfedale you instinctively knew Jimmy Tierney was on the floor from the laughter that surrounded him telling his Our Boys jokes. My dear friend you will be sorely missed by all your fellow Volunteers and all at the Museum, but will be welcomed into the Museum Chapel in Heaven. Our sincerest condolences to Gertrude and to all Jimmy's family from myself and & Carol 🙏

Shocked and really sad to hear of Jimmy’s passing. Thinking of you Gertrude, Sue and Ian at this time. He was a true gentleman and so friendly and helpful. Both my Dad and Jimmy had the same wit and shared their jokes. I remember Jimmy gave me my first ‘big bike’ back in the day. I painted it blue and added a basket. He was so generous and thoughtful. Shocked to hear of Jimmy's sudden death. My sympathy to Gertrude, Sue, Ian and extended families. Jimmy was such a character always in good humour and ready to share a joke to lift one's spirits. I knew him from the Panto in Rowlestown, he would bring the house down with laughter when acting a particular part and latterly the sing along songs to recall fond memories to his senior audience.
Jimmy has now moved to a higher state of consciousness to a Home where he is welcomed by the Lord Jesus to enjoy the bliss of Eternity.
