Jimmy was a member of a unique group of Dublin GAA supporters who came together, moreorless by accident, in 2008. What was unique about this bunch was the fact that of the nine participants there were five born and bread Longfordmen who were Dublin Season Ticket holders and travelled to Dublin games all over the island of Ireland along with our integrated Dublin 'cousins' who also became Season Ticket holders. We had the pleasure of Jimmy's company throughout a period of over 16 years. Along with enjoying the success of the Dublin football team we always found Jimmy to be a decent, genuine, helpful and generous person. He had a huge knowledge of the GAA game and he would relate numerous stories about Dublin teams and players going back to the 50s and 60s. He was also a very obliging and helpful person and of course was always up for the yarns, stories and the crack. He always enquired about our families and would be concerned if one of our group was missing. He was a man for whom we all had great respect and we will miss him greatly. Rest in Peace Jimmy.
