I am so saddened by this news. I knew Jim over many years as I was a regular visitor to the school in my work capacity and he was always warm , friendly and a true gentleman. He had a truly exceptional bond with students and staff and I wish to extend my sympathies to his family, the staff of St Anne's Special school and the school community who are touched by his loss. Gone too soon. May he rest in peace.

I was in Holy Family School , Charleville . Jim made a wonderful contribution to our group . He was always in good humour. May his gentle soul rest in peace.

Cannot believe Uncle Jim is gone. So many fond memories from all the family get togethers - The singing, dancing, guitar playing, hugs and the chats. And whenever there was a toast he’d say “tipp tipp hooray”. Gone too soon. We were both very lucky to have had Jim as our principal in St. Anne's, he was a pleasure to work with.

Jim contributed an enormous ammount to the school and the lives of so many in St. Anne's in a positive way.

I learnt lots from Jim in my time there, he was always willing to share his knowledge and he was very generous with his time.

Jim was a gentleman, he was very kind and caring to all pupils, staff and anyone within the wider St. Anne's community. Anyone that walked through St. Anne's door felt welcome from Jim.

Jim had a great way with the pupil's, he was energetic, fun and charismatic, and his morning assemblies were special. Jim had a great way of bringing everyone together with his guitar and singing skills every morning and it was a lovely positive way to start each day. Jim went out of his way each morning to greet and chat to each and every pupil which made eveyone feel special and at ease.

Jim was a family man, he loved his family so much. He was so proud of Clara and Rachel following in his footsteps into teaching and continuning on his legacy in making a positive contribution to kids education. Jim loved nothing more than chatting about his grand children, they gave him so much joy.

Jim will be very fondly rembembered to all who knew him. May Jim Rest in Peace.
