Sincere sympathy to the McNeive family on the tragic loss of James. May he Rest In Peace. Thoughts too with the other driver who suffered serious physical injuries and lifelong psychological trauma as a result of this horrific tragic occurrence.

Will always remember Sunday 4th August at Claremorris Show when we heard that James had gone to Heaven.

Knowing the McNeive family so well from growing up in Brickens in the ‘60s and James dad Pete from national school, I can only offer our sincere sympathy at this time to Bernadette, Fiona, Michael, Matthew & Peter. Aunts Patricia,Noreca,Monnie & Uncle John.

James would have been embarrassed but immensely proud of his brother Michael’s heart warming eulogy delivered from the heart.

God speed James. I know you are up in heaven enjoying yourself with the angels. Playing music and gaelic. Teaching childern and making everyone around you happy. Two weeks ago today our hearts got broken beyond repair. We had to pull ourselves together to celebrate your cousin's wedding. You were included and with us throughout. I will miss going into your house and you always asking did I want a cup of tea.

Our deepest sympathies to Mr. McNeive’s family, Ms Carr, his extended family and friends on such a tragic loss.

Mr. McNeive brought such joy and enthusiasm into our child’s life, while teaching her at Glasnevin NS. Even though there was a year’s absence, the void was never filled and the hype for his return was beyond belief. We spent our whole summer talking of his return. It was like Santa was coming early. Mr. McNeive had the natural ability to make every child feel happy, safe, welcome and like they were a superstar. My daughter always spoke of Mr. McNeive with such adoration, he was right up there on her pedestal. He introduced Eloise to the sporting world and no matter the game or who was playing, if it included Mayo that’s who she was all in for. Even when up against Dublin. He even convinced her that I should try out for welly throwing at the Olympics, this we still laugh about. There was always a Mr. McNeive story to be told after school, always with a smile or a laugh. His stories truly entertained and captured his students. He had such am amazing flare that was infectious beyond the school gates.

We thank you for all the lovely memories that we will forever share and cherish in our family.

Though his time was far too short his legacy lives on in every heart that he touched.

Mr. McNeive was a great man and an amazing teacher. I will miss you so much and thank you so much for always making me smile and whenever we got the chance to play G.A.A or football he always brought me to play. I am so honoured to be in a little part of his life. He will most certainly be a big part of my life. I will miss him so very much.

May he rest in peace up in heaven as an angel.
