Since my youth in Kerry I have heard over the years the wonderful and classy footballer he was and also in everyday life.The late Jas Murphy, Capt 1953 Kerry Team who died recently , regularly told me that Mixie was the best Kerry back he had seen over all the years as a fielder with sheer class. He always said that “Mixie could turn on a sixpence” , He certainly brought a lot of enjoyment/ happiness and wonderful memories to many Kerry people and others.
