I fear you are mistaken lad but time will make you yield..
And when your hair is as grey as mine and the years have made one old..
Then you will invoke the truth I spoke of the Kingdom's green & gold..

One cannot box or bottle it or grasp it in your hand,
But pride of place and love of race, inspired a love of land,
Time honoured is our birthright, you will never break the mould,
for it's deep within the heart of those who wear the green & gold,

Grey lakes and mountains soaring high, Bohocogram on the hill,
The little church at Gallarus,
The Skellig Rock, proud football stock that can't be bought or sold,
For our county's fame we play the game in the Kingdom's green and gold,

And when the battle is fiercest and backs are to the wall,
We stay alive, we can survive, we stumble but don't fall,
For the spirit of our Fathers and of stories yet untold,
Will still ensure, we will endure in the Kingdom's green & gold.

We savour all the victories and salute the gallant foe,
And when we lose there is no excuse, just pack our bags and go,
So raise a glass to the greats of the past, to those warriors brave & bold,
Who each year aspire to lifting Sam maguire i
