We were very sorry to hear Jim had gone on today. A great friend to the Whelan family always, he was a hero who once saved three of Joe and Norah’s children from the flames of a London house fire while he was living with us there. Always cheerful and kind, generous to everyone he met, he was a man of tolerance, integrity and quiet virtue. Our heartfelt condolences to Mary and all of his family and friends who will surely miss him.
May you rest in peace Jim!
I hope you find comfort and peace and are surrounded by those who have passed before you!

Very sad to hear of Jim’s passing. I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Jim not so long ago while doing some work at his house. He was a gentleman and his mindset and attitude towards life and living, for a 94 year old man, was nothing short of inspirational. A life very well lived indeed. May he rest in peace.
