Dear Una
I am so sorry to hear of Philip”s passing. May he rest in peace. Hopefully all the great memories will give some comfort. Lots of love.
Dear Una, Cairin, Maeve and all the O’Connors, I was so sad to hear of Uncle Philip’s passing. I have very fond memories of the welcome and warmth and interest Philip took in me and my family and the fun visits to Kilternan on our trips home. Matt and I watched the beautiful service. It was so touching and comforting how you all individually honored him. Cairin, your comment “Situation Under Control”, made me smile. Una, the flowers were so pretty and done with such love and care. Wishing you support and love in this difficult time - Rosemary, Matt, Andres and Naomi in Seattle.
So sorry to hear of Philip’s passing - a true gentleman- condolences to all the family
To the O’Connor Family,
I’m sorry for your loss. I have nice memories of Philip. I hope that you will find comfort in your memories and in each other.
To Una and the Irish O’Connors, let me convey condolences for the passing of cousin Philip, it was so nice to be able to watch the service and hear of Philips great loves and accomplishments but especially the reading of Charles Allen’s poem “The days I Road with the wards”. The O’Connors were so kind to us Mudd’s as we visited Ireland ( one by one) it was a special treat that Una took me me the shed with the fall apples, to give a treat to the horses. Philip will be sorely missed! My niece Lauren and your granddaughter Laura are now friends, it was nice to meet her in our family Zoom bingo.
Rest In Peace Philip
To Philip and all the family. So very sorry to hear of the death of your dear father Philip. A man both Brian Gartlan and I held in the highest esteem. He was a wonderful combination of professionalism, pragmatism, leadership, mentorship, encouragement and friendship. A once in a lifetime colleague. We are lessened today by his absence but I still feel his presence. “A thimbleful of Armagnac” he cautioned but encouraged as I went to Paris on the honeymoon! And the time I had to leave the children in the car outside when I popped into the Gables for a bottle to bring for dinner: he ordered poor Jim McCabe to open a Chablis and two glasses doublequick outside. More than a great lawyer: a consummate colleague and admired friend. Dermot and Brian

On behalf of the extended O’Connor Family in America, please accept my sincere condolences at the death of Philip O’Connor. I will offer the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass for the Repose of his soul, and pray especially that God will comfort his wife, Una, and all the O’Connor family and Philip’s many friends. I have the fondest memories of visiting Philip and Una and their beautiful family with my mother, Hilda O’Connor Mudd, and my sister, Hilda Lazas in the late 1970s’, and am grateful for the friendships formed then and continue to this day. May the O’Connor family find consolation in the faith of our ancestors.
Una Cairin Stephen and the extended O' Connor family a sad time for all of you. In the many facets of life that I encountered Philip, whether in practice, at the races, the RDS or Hunting he always had a cheery word with me even if on occasions we had a little Parry and repost . His smile and sense of mischief will be my lasting memory of him. I hope that these traits will bring a smile to your faces in the future. Remembering a Gentleman and a Scholar.RIP
