We were always made feel so welcome by uncle Seamus. He was a funny, generous, huge hearted man who was curious about life and passionate about many things - Galway, hurling, gardening, Gaeilge, his family and especially his grandsons Jamie and Ryley. From the first time he told us about them to the last phone call we had, he was full of love for them, laughing about what they would say or do or full of praise for the wonderful boys they are. He was always asking about Seán and Siún, and always cared about our parents and us. Seamus was a wonderful and kind uncle. We will think of him when we see snowdrops and daffodils and every time we visit Galway. Ar dheis Dé le suaimhneas síoraí go raibh anam dílis.

Very sorry to hear of Jim's sad passing. I often met him walking and sometimes walked with him.
He was a real gentleman and good to have a chat with. Rest in Peace

May Seamus rest in Peace. He was a great gentleman and a wonderful support to me and to Teasie all throughout our lives. We loved our phone conversations especially after a Galway vs Kilkenny hurling game. He was always so welcoming and so proud to show us around Galway, around Connemara and especially around his garden. I am praying for Mary, for Susan and her boys and for all of Seamus's family and friends. There are many candles lit in Duiske Abbey for him.
