To affirm my condolences to all Jim's family Graham and David , the extended families on Jim's passing after a long life ...I had last seen Jim on 8th May (being eventually able to reach him in convalescent care ) and it was a privilege both to have known him and seen him then as I said my goodbyes) To share in the many tributes and to acknowledge the late Jim's many admirable attributes including his views on probity in Public life be it it elected Members or public service workers . May Jim now rest in peace RIP

A great conversationalist with a deep knowledge of local heritage and history, it was always a pleasure to meet with him. May his gentle soul rest in peace.

I met Jim for the first time in Baghdad many decades ago. He was a man with a big heart and soul while generous in sharing the pitfalls when trading abroad. The world needs more like him. My sympathy to all the Fay family on his passing. May he Rest in Peace.

Sincere sympathy to Jim’s family on behalf of the Officers and members of Fine Gael in Dublin West, Jim’s contribution to FG both as a representative and as an activist was immense. As the last surviving founding member, Jim will be remembered as one who did so much to help grow the local organisation into the success it is today. He could always be relied upon to offer encouragement and advice to candidates and supporters alike. May he rest in well deserved peace.

I met him 60yrs ago , lost touch & met again 3/4 years ago when we were in hospital together, since then we would talk & txt each other weekly. Sorry to hear of Jim's passing. He was a gentleman. I remember him as a Councillor back in the 80s but he has been involved with the community for many years. RIP Jim.
