I remember Jim from our school days in Coan Tech, when he was preparing for the Garda entrance exam. We both went our separate ways and both of us became police officers - Jim in Ireland and I in the U.K.

Unfortunately, we didn’t have the opportunity to ‘compare notes’ before Jim’s passing, although efforts in that direction had been commenced through a person known to Jim. I greatly regret that.

I offer my sympathy to Jim’s family.
Sorry I am unable to attend but I will light a candle for you in the Oblate Grotto to send you on your way.
Condolences to all of your family.
Your comrade in arms
