I only got the privilege of knowing Jamie for a short time while he tried his hand at learning how to play Rugby League with the Tribesmen in Galway. I could always count on Jamie to turn up for training, even in the rain he always put his best foot forward.
It is clear from all of the other message here that Jamie applied this to everything he tried and done in life. A great example for us all to live by.

We got to know James when he joined the company as a Front Office Supervisor where he excelled in guest relations. He had the drive and knowledge to progress to HR and from time-to-time work on duty management shifts. He was a conscientious and dedicated professional who gave his absolute best to all tasks assigned to him. James will be remembered with great affection and respect and his absence will be profoundly felt by all who had the honour of knowing and working alongside him. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.

Yesterday, we travelled to Cavan to bid farewell to a former employee and colleague, James Colbourne RIP . It is heartbreaking to see a life full of promise and opportunity end so soon.
James joined our company in December 2021 and excelled in various roles, starting in the Front Office, progressing to Front Office Supervisor, and later working in Group Reservations and HR. In all these positions, he demonstrated exceptional talent and and dedication, not only completing tasks but perfecting them with immense pride and determination.
He immersed himself in the fabric of the hotel and became familiar and friendly with staff in all departments. His simple morning greeting to all in their native language, his willingness to help and support colleagues, and his warm and humorous demeanour endeared him to everyone in the hotel. As colleagues, we have many funny stories and memories that demonstrate James's character.
His departure from the hotel two years ago yesterday to explore New Zealand was a project he deeply wished to pursue.
Oranmore Lodge's loss was New Zealand's gain.
Earth's loss due to his untimely and devastating passing is truly heaven's gain.
