I just found out at the weekend that Janet died. She was my Godmother and I know that she faithfully prayed for me. She would visit our home (The Wilkinsons) when she returned from Tanzania, often bringing me little gifts. I loved to receive her advent calendar at Christmas. She also visited my future husband's family at these times. She attended our wedding in 2001 and always sent an email wishing us a happy anniversary showing interest in our family as they grew. I had lovely correspondence with her over the years and a number of phone calls. She was a remarkable and inspirational lady and we will miss her greatly. My mother, Margaret Wilkinson sends her condolences to her family, just as we do. I was very pleased to be able to see her funeral online.
So sorry to hear of Janets passing .Deepest sympathy to all of her family . So fortunate to have known such a kind, gentle lady her friendship knew no bounds .
I’m so sorry to hear about Janets passing. Janet was a friend to everyone and will be sadly missed by all who were fortunate to have walked the path of life with her, let it be long or short. Janet you can now rest easy. Oliver & Rose Dunne and Family.
Janet was a dear, precious and faithful friend to me during her time in Brabazon Nursing Home. Always so encouraging, she, along with myself and an another Brabazon resident were named 'The Three Musketeers' by a mutual friend and prayer warrior. I will very much miss her godly counsel and friendship. My deepest condolences to all her dear family.

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. Revelation 21:4
I'm grateful to have been neighbours with Janet for a few years. She was a constant encouragement: regaling us with stories, keeping us updated, and praying always. May she rest in peace.
Janet was a dear friend to my Grandparents Joe and Joan Taylor. I had the honour of meeting her in Ireland in the mid 2000's where we had lunch together. My Grandmother Joan connected us, it was a light filled time. I myself grew up as missionary child in Tanzania who later went back to serve as a missionary in Tanzania and then Rwanda. Janet would send me emails and update me, encourage me. I like to imagine my Grandparents and Janet will all be catching up now in Heaven together, sharing memories about the Tanzania days. I praise God for Janet and send love on behalf of my extended family, many of whom remember her fondly.
My sincere condolences to Janet’s family on her passing.
I remember her coming to St Kevin’s Sunday School, Dublin, (where I attended with my siblings) telling wonderful stories and showing beautiful slides of her missionary work in Tanzania.
A great lady.
Gillian Huston (nee Campbell) Athlone.

My sincere condolences to Dr Janet's family, David Falkner, extended family and friends for her pass.
Janet was an inspiration to everyone. Always smiling. She easly connected to people even if she didn't know them.
Thank you Janet for devoting your life to Tanzanian people since when you were very young.
You liked them as they liked you. You loved your swahili language. Always you said." HABARI YAKO, MUNGU AKUBARIKI" Means : How are you. May God bless you. You liked the swahili song.
When we met you used to say lets sing together. MUNGU NI PENDO APENDA WATU.
" GOD IS LOVE HE LOVES HIS PEOPLE "
When sending text messages you ended up by saying Shalom. Thank you for your great love and faith. You will be missed. LALA SALAMA JANET. PUMZIKA KWA AMANI.
To all Janet's family and friends you are in my thoughts and prayers.I will miss her daily texts to me.We prayed for each other and for any requests we might have had.Shalom Janet
David and I were glad to be able to join the funeral service on line. It was a fitting tribute to a wonderful lady. I have known Janet since I was a child living in Tyrrellspass and met her again many years later at various places in Dublin and when we were at the annual service in Clonmacnoise. She was always so cheerful and so outgoing. Our sympathy to all the extended family and especially the Haworth family whom we got to know when David was Rector of Bray Parish, but didn't know of their connection with Janet. Rest in Peace Janet.
With love and prayers to all Janet's family and friends at this time of sadness. Fiona and I remember Janet with fondness as she was our neighbour, friend and unofficial GP while we were CMS school teachers in Dodoma, Tanzania 1987-88. I remember her kindness when she called to see me, in bed with a mild bout of malaria.....she made you feel better just by her gentle and caring bedside manner, as well as her prayers and medical help! Much later in my current role at CMS Ireland she contacted us regarding one of her Missionary heroes George Lawrence Pilkington (1865-97), whose story she wanted to be remembered. Born in Dublin he graduated from Cambridge and travelled to Uganda as a lay missionary in 1891. There he had an experience of spiritual renewal which profoundly affected the life of the Ugandan church. As a linguist he worked alongside Baganda soldiers in the army, learned Luganda and translated large parts of the bible into that language. He was killed in action and as he lay dying was comforted by a fellow soldier, who quoted bible verses to him in Luganda...words which he himself had translated.
What lovely words of reference to Janet, she was obviously held in very high esteem by all who knew her , may her kind and gentle soul rest in peace
I am so sorry to hear of Janet’s passing, my condolences to her extended family and friends. I was her neighbour for a time in Sandymount about a decade ago. She was truly a remarkable woman, utterly selfless and devoted in prayer. An inspiring servant of the Lord Jesus.

Dearest Jan you have touched my life since a young child with memories of Ardnucher, Kilkenny, London, and you always followed our global movements with genuine interest. Our years as “neighbours” whilst we were based in Uganda & Kenya were particularly memorable. Cards were never forgotten for St Patrick’sDay, Birthdays, and Advent Calendars to our 3 grandsons. You will be greatly missed by our close family.

My late wife Julia and I knew Janet when we served as Mission Partners with BCMs in Dodoma Tanzania from 1970 to 1979. On one occasion I was very ill with a typhus disease. Janet encouraged me and ministered to me. I remember her with thankfulness to God. My sympathy to any relatives and her friends.
My condolences to all Janet's family and friends. She was a lovely lady and will be remembered with fondness by all who met her.
Janet met us when we first arrived at Mvumi hospital in September 1975, she was coming out of church and gave us such a warm welcome. For the next few years she was our Medical Superintendent at Mvumi before she moved to Dodoma and then Dar-es-Salaam.
Janet was a beautiful loving Christian lady - always ready to pray, advise and help; she also had a dry sense of humour with a twinkle in her eye!
Latterly we lived near Flo, her half sister, and were able to meet Janet when she came over to the UK, and more recently on zoom for Friends of Mvumi Hospital meetings.
Janet was a dear friend and we will miss her.
Heaven will be a happier place for her presence.
Sincere condolences to Janet's family & friends at this sad time. Fond memories of Janet's visits to Sligo many years ago. Keeping you in our thoughts & prayers.
Janet has lived a life worthy of the Lord who had chosen her and called her by name from her very tender age. She lived all her life to the glory of the Lord and served faithfully for the benefit of others and to the extension of His kingdom. It is a privilege that we got to know her and that we were a small part in her life. How many lives she would have touched!
Heavens would reverberate with the great welcome, "Well done, good and faithful servant, Janet".
Will surely miss Janet, but we have the hope of seeing her again in resurrection! For now, good bye Janet!
My deepest condolences to Janet's family, also her extended family and friends on the sad passing of your beloved Janet.

Well done good and faithful servant.

Janet was a woman of great faith and encouraged many people with scriptures and prayer.

Shalon to you Janet.

James.

I was so saddened to hear about Janet’s passing. I got to know her visiting my mum in Brabazon, always a kind word and oodles of encouragement. Somebody with whom you instantly feel connection with. I have missed her about Brabazon and will continue to. Heaven will be a better place with her adding to its number. Sweet dreams Janet time to rest now. 🦋

We are both so sorry to hear of Janets passing. Janet has been a friend to both our families and will be sadly missed.
Dear Janet touched our lives-growing up as children in Kilkenny, and later through her visits to us in Canada and our visits home. She never forgot our birthdays, and those of our children and our grandchildren. What a memory, what a kind, adventurous, giving and loving person. She will be deeply missed. Ron, Ruby, Sheilagh, Jennifer, Lucy and James.
We extend our deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Jane. What a wonderful long life! May Jane now in peace.
A wonderful lady, may she rest in peace.
I first met Janet in 2013 and in the years since we became firm friends. She was an amazing disciple of Jesus who loved to encourage people in the Lord's work in so many big (and small) ways. Janet was a wonderful servant of Crosslinks Mission Society and served the Lord faithfully over many long years. She is with her Saviour in heaven and - though I'll miss her - for that I am truly rejoicing. My prayers are with all Janet's precious family and loved ones x

Wonderful memories of dear Janet who lived a remarkable life of christian witness and service.
Lovingly remembered by, Trevor, Janet, Mervyn and Audrey Craven
I have know Janet all my life. She and my mother, Lucy (Anton), grew up together and while they were cousins, they were like sisters. Janet and her parents were frequently present as I was growing up. In her retirement, Janet helped me create a smaller more personable Anton family history. She had an excyclopediac memory of people, events, dates and connections. She was always a great company and fun to be with. I will miss her.
