Jarlath Folan

Sincere sympathy to Jarlaths children and extended family and friends. Knew Jarlath since he arrived in Mullingar in the 80s. Always a pleasant,decent and very fair minded person.
He had the best qualities to do the job extremely well and leaves behind a very proud legacy.
Life can be so cruel giving him such a horrendous cross to carry for the last few year's. Now in eternal life free of all pain. RIP Jarlath.

We are deeply saddened to learn of Jarlath's death. To Rhonda and Jarlath's children and the Folan and Hoye families we offer our sincere condolences.
Jarlath exemplified the very best of intelligent integrity and empathy in his vocation as a member of the Force.
I have the distinction of being the first to cross examine Jarlath when he first appeared in Mullingar District Court, under the watchful eye of the late John Cannon, his mentor. It was the only time I recall him showing any nervousness, but his personality and dilligent preparation won the day. From that day I believe we enjoyed a relationship of mutual respect. I truly valued Jarlath as the very best of people.

May he rest in peace and may the enormous respect he earned from so many be of some comfort to those who love him.

Condolences to the Folan family on the sad passing of Jarlath. I worked under Jarlaths direction while based in Mullingar. He knew my interest in vintage cars and never missed an opportunity to bring them up in conversation in the canteen. Inspector Folan wore the Garda uniform with pride. He will be remembered and missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing him.

Heartfelt sympathy to all of Jarlath’s family. I joined An Garda Síochána on the same day as Jarlath and we were in the same class. It was obvious from day one he was born for the job. I remember him as a quiet, gentle person with a quick wit. I feel lucky to have known him and will remember him with fondness. May you rest in peace Jarlath.
