I have fond childhood memories of the Lynch holding, moving cattle and horses for J.B. with my late father Joseph, always helped by Maura, D.J. and Sweeney, with witty advice offered from a distance by M.V. and Tony.

I got to know him almost 50 years ago. We soldiered together for many years. JB was chairman of the water scheme and a great leader. He was a Gentleman of the highest order. His house was the first house as the water made it's way. He was as interested that the farthest houses got a supply as good as his own. Everyone of the more than 2,000 households was equally important to him. His leadership and community spirit helped to change the lives of people in 8 rural parishes.
