Jean Cleary

Sincere sympathy to all of Jean's family at this sad time. I was very saddened to hear of her death, having had the privilege of being in her company, together with Tony, Ger and Geraldine after our time at All Hallows. Jean had such a lovely way with people, she will be missed so much. May she rest in peace

I was sad to learn this week of Jean's death. I fondly remember her humour, presence and engagement while she studied with us at Irish Hospice Foundation and RCSI for a Higher Diploma in Bereavement Studies. She was a natural carer and so popular with and supportive of her fellow students. My condolences to you all who loved her. May she rest in Peace.

I first met Jean in Player Wills where we worked for many years. We never lost contact with each other and met regularly for lunch with Nuala Little and Frances Kennedy (deceased) For Nuala and I it has been a great shock as just recently we had been together for lunch and Jean was in great spirits - as usual. May you rest in peace Jean and don’t forget to say hello to Frances for both of us. Deirdre .

I was with great sadness that I learned of Jeans death, a wonderful woman and work colleague in All Hallows College’. Jean was kind, compassionate, and caring with a great sense of fun, a gifted woman. My fond memories of Jean are the many humorous poems she wrote for special events in All Hallows which brought so much laughter and truth. Jean was a woman of great faith and a strong pastoral woman which was so evident in her work with the night students. My sincere sympathy to Jean’s family on your loss. Rest in peace Jean.

I first met Jean years ago when she accepted me onto the part-time BA course in All Hallows College. Her commitment to the night-time students was absolutely outstanding and there is no doubt that many of us would not have completed the journey without her ever present support.
I have been lucky enough that Jean remained a friend since those days and i will greatly miss that friendship, advice and insightful guidance of which she gave so generously.

Jean embodied all that is best in a human person. My deepest sympathy to Ray and her extended family. She talked so fondly of her family and it showed the love was returned. I know you are in the arms of your loving God.

She had so many qualities – energy, modesty, generosity, kindness, compassion, great good humour. I was fortunate to work with her in All Hallows and marveled at how she took so many under her wing. She exemplified everything that was good about the college, and the care and welcome it offered. My heartfelt sympathy to all her family and loved ones.

We send our deepest sympathies to Jean's family. It was a privilege and a joy to have known her and to be in her company. We will miss her greatly. Rest in Peace dear Jean.

ForI many years I was a colleague of Jean's at All Hallows College. She was universally liked. I appreciated her good humour and kindness. I was especially Impressed by her dedication to her night time BA students. Graduation was her favourite day of the year when she could justly take pride in their achievement and celebrate it with them. In latter years Bernadette and I visited her in the cottage in Ballinamore and she visited with us in Boyle. I know she was a much loved aunt and sister. I was so very sorry to hear that Jean had died. I knew Jean from All Hallows’ but would often bump into her years after in Sundrive. She was a lovely lady with a very positive outlook on life. My condolences to all her family and friends .

Jean was the person I first met when I visited All Hallows. It was she who encouraged me to study for my degree. I stayed for 7 years and I enjoyed many a cuppa with Jean during that time. She has now been called to higher service and I trust the Lord will welcome her home with open arms as her mother did on the day she was born.
