Sincere condolences to family on the death of Jean, for many years the secretary and lynchpin of Christchurch Shannon. When it burnt she opened her house for the congregation to meet. Over the years she had been involved in so many aspects of local life, as she raised her family, ran Guides and Scouts, saw young people move away with a great knowledge of faith, welcomed .the energy that the Zimbawean members brought in recent years, and did so much more, quietly. A supporter of Christian Aid she kept her eyes on the wider world.
She was also a first-rate scrabble player. Having played with her only a month ago, I will miss her greatly on all these ways.
Rosemary Power, pioneer minister Shannon 2008-12.
