At a committee meeting of Clonakilty Access Group held on 3rd August 2022, a vote of sympathy was passed to Teddy, Alan and Conor and all of Jean's relatives and many friends on her untimely and sad passing.
We in the Access Group are eternally grateful to Jean in her capacity as Secretary of the Twinning Association and in particular in that role as one of the key people to organise the Clonakilty St. Patrick's Day Parade.
We contacted Jean to ask if the committee could organise a dedicated area for people with disabilities to assemble if they wished, where they could view the parade in comfort.
Within 24 hours, Jean arranged for some of our members to meet with the parade committee members to ensure their proposal was practical and suitable - which it was of course. It made such a difference to the people who used it after to watch the parade.
It showed her dedication to her role - and her decency and humanity and genuine care for everyone.
We thank her on behalf of all our members, their families and carers. She was a good and decent human being.
We would also like to especially mention here also Orla, her sister-in-law, in her capacity as Chairperson of Clonakilty Chamber of Commerce. We have been working positively with Orla on a number of issues and extend our sympathies to you on the loss of Jean.

We were so saddened to hear about Jean. She was such a wonderful, warm, kind person; a pure joy to have in the house whenever she called in to pick up Cooper and have a quick chat. Cooper, like most dogs, ADORED her. Jean was the only person that he never barked at - I always said he must be able to sense how innately decent she was.

The three of us will miss her, and we are so, so sorry for your loss. It’s unimaginable.
