To the MacCarthy family,

Jean was the glue in the family, Pat was the public figure and she did the back stage work. She did it with pride and modestly. She’s leaving a legacy in her boys and extended family which I’m sure she cherished.
They’re together now and the Tulla pipe band welcomed her home to heaven.
RIP Jean, I never really knew her but what I knew was she was a true lady.

My deepest sympathy on the passing of your beloved Mum, a gentle, kind and loving lady. I first got to know Jean when we were both taking fiddle lessons in what was then ‘The Tech,’ with Mr Mulcaire. He cycled in from Crusheen in 1963/64. Jean and your Dad contributed so much to the town of Ennis. May your memories of your Mum and Dad console you in the weeks and months to come.
