JEAN PIM - RIP
What an elegant, indefatigable, principled and wonderful lady. As coach to the Irish Junior and Young Rider teams I partnered with Jean as chef d’équipe for many years. Her love for the sport and strength of mind made her perfect for the role. What a privilege it was to work with her. She was a great role model and she lives on in the lives of the numerous young people she supported and encouraged. Will Ogilvie must have been thinking about people like Jean when he wrote these lines: RUNNING ON
The dusk is down on the river meadows,
The moon is climbing above the fir,
The lane is crowded with creeping shadows,
The gorse is only a distant blur;
The last of the light is almost gone,
But hark! She’s running!
She’s running on !
The count of the years is steadily growing;
The Old give way to the eager Young;
Far on the hill is the horn still blowing,
Far on the steep are the hounds still strung.
Good women follow the good women gone;
And hark! She’s running!
She’s running on!
