Strangely enough, I never ‘physically’ met Jennifer but each time I heard someone speak about her, I felt this buzz of energy in the air.

Sorry to hear of the passing of Mrs. Sleeman. Certainly a great lady who lived a long and full life. Geat memories of growing up in killavullen with the Sleeman clan. I bet it was my father the station master, who gave her those cabbage plants as he kept a nice garden up at the station.

Some great stories,remember shooting the poor fox out in the yard and the string going to the upstairs window,,or was that just a story,perhaps.

Going to the pictures in Mallow and Cork,"mutiny on the bounty", I gave Paddy my sweets as he was hungry half way through the film,,funny the simple things you remember.

Mrs Sleeman was a great and most kind lady and may God be good to her.

I have been blessed in my work to meet some of the moral giants of my era—Dorothy Day, pope John Paul II, Russian Orthodox bishop Anthony Bloom of London, numerous former Soviet dissidents. Jennifer’s family surely not only suffers grief but surely feels a deep & abiding pride. For within the frame of her own remarkable life, Jennifer matched the moral heroism, good humor, and courage of the best among us. May her memory be eternal.

I was so sad to hear of Jennifer's death. I first met her when my great friend Penny Wray introduced us. Mother-in-laws get a bad press generally but in this case the cliché didn't hold. Penny loved her. And admired her. And just thought she was great. And so she was. What a good life she led. My heart goes out to all the people she left behind, but especially Bushy, Paddy, Richard and Jack. X

Aunt Jen was not conformed to the world the way it is, through love and humble service she showed us a different way to live a better life and be the best person we can be.

I read her story and I've seen the film and I'm amazed what a life she had. I'm sorry I never met her, I would have loved to talk to her. She did so much good and was so humble about it.

Condolences on the passing of Mrs Sleeman to Patricia, Katey, Mary, Paddy, Duncan, Andrew and the extended Sleeman family. Mrs Sleeman was an amazing lady who went about her often extraordinary business in an understated way. She had the courage of her convictions and so wasn’t afraid to do things that might have been seen as impossible to do. She lived in a time when women often ‘took a back seat’ but she chose a different route especially in her latter years. I am delighted that our children, especially our daughters, met her at different stages over the years. I feel privileged to have had Jennifer in our lives and hope that some of her determination rubbed off on us along the way. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam dílis.
