Sad Day for for all on the news of Jenny and i am so thankful i managed to call over near her 100th Birthday such a beautiful Lady and didnt look a Day over 60 God bless her and no doubt she will be putting out the cakes and tea for my Father Tommy O"Donovan and all the brothers and sisters my thoughts are with all in Monkstown especially Jill and Maraid xxx God Bless

I've nice memories of visiting the O Donovans in Monkstown with my mother Jenny Cummins long ago, to call on Jack (where I got my first watch), Donal, Jenny and the Cunningham family. Also, a visit to Cork was never complete without a call to Nancy in the Tivoli Bar for tea and cake. May Jenny and all her departed brothers and sisters rest in peace.

The family of the late Patrick (Junior) GAFFNEY - Dinah (wife), Jane, Anna, Patrick (Tim), Siobhan, Dan and Kate - remember with affection and pleasure, our visits to Jenny in Monkstown on our annual holidays to Cork. A visit to her shop, followed by tea was always a highlight, and the children (most now parents and even grandparents!) remember, in particular, the free sweets that Jenny used to smuggle to them, unnoticed! She will never be forgotten. RIP, Jenny.

So saddend to hear of jennys passing she was truly an iconic figure in what was a lovely sleepy self sufficient village jenny ran the local post office shop in a highly efficient manner in her unique friendly caring way treating everyone equally and no kid regardless of financial status who liked ice-cream or chocolate left without both similarly poor parents trying to save for santa looking for advice on a social welfare form to the local self canonised village snob looking for advice on stocks and shares jenny kept them all happy she was the back bone of the local church she was truly a walking saint to her immediate family i say let's celebrate her great life and let's hope she will open a post office inside the pearly gates tax free status Conditions of entry no wealth smugness or grandeur gobshites sent to purgatory to her wider family i say carry on her lega cy rest in peace jenny your work is done from finbarr Eileen and coakley family diamond rd monkstown
