Annette, Seth and Finn, we are very sorry to learn of the passing of your beloved Mum and Grandmother.
On behalf of Dun Laoghaire Choral Society (DLCS), I wish to extend our deepest sympathy to the famly and cherished friends of Jenny, who was a special figure in our choir for many years, as attested to by others on these pages. In the best sense, Jenny was a force of nature who, in her various roles, steered the choir since its inception through decades of great singing and musical and social engagement. Her contribution was incalculable and will always remain in our choir memory. Gone but never forgotten. May she rest in peace,

Deirdre, Chairperson.
Sincere sympathy to Annette, Finn
and Seth on the passing of Jenny.
May she rest in peace.
I was deeply, deeply saddened to hear Jenny’s passing.
Ever since I met her in 1993, she was like my Irish mother. I truly cherish the lovely time I spent with her, her dogs and grandsons at that time.
Also, I am forever grateful for her coming all the way to Japan to attend my wedding.
I will never forget her affection and kindness. I was just so lucky that I met her and I could share the memorable moments with her.
My sincere sympathy to all the family members.
Jenny was one of the founding members of Dun Laoghaire Choral Society. One Sunday morning in the early 1980s while on a tour of local churches I started to chat with Jenny. I was looking for performance venues and of course she encouraged me. I think that was in Monkstown Church of Ireland and ever since that chance meeting we have remained in contact. She has been a highly valued and trusted friend and I am greatly saddened by her death. Jenny’s support for the fledgling DLCS was unconditional and tireless. She just adored being a choir member and she shared her enthusiasm with many people. Jenny was an outstanding Choir Secretary keen to assist at every turn and at any hour, often at personal cost to herself. She had a natural ability to make everyone feel at ease – be it the Choir's first President Mrs Rita Childers, DLCS members, orchestral musicians, collaborating choir members, organists, soloists, rehearsal pianists, printers, designers, clergy, venue managers and many more. Jenny was wise, hospitable and welcoming at her home, pragmatic, generous, witty, questioning, bright, open, non-judgemental, honest, occasionally forthright (for good reasons) and intensely loyal. In acknowledgement of her dedication to DLCS Jenny was asked to be the choir’s Vice-President, an honour which, at times, amused her. I will recall Jenny with the warmest respect, admiration and love. My deepest sympathies go to Suzanne and Annette and all family members at this time of loss.

‘Waft her, angels, through the skies
Far above yon azure plain,
Glorious there, like you, to rise,
There, like you, for ever reign.’
(Handel, Jephtha)

A true friend has gone to her reward, May she rest in peace.
Will miss her for lunch and chat in the Royal Marine every couple of months.
We laughed and shared stories of her dear sister Susie who she really missed.
She loved all her grandsons and spoke proudly of each one.
I was so very sorry to hear of the Mrs Vellas passing . She was such a lovely graceful lady and was a patient of our dental practice for many years . She was always so happy and full of life and told us many proud stories of all her children and grandchildren . She had a great sense of humour and I shall miss the smiles and laughs that we had over the years . Our heartfelt condolences , Lorna McCourt(Sandycove Dental Care)
So very sad to hear that Jenny has parted from this world. She extended a very warm welcome to me when I joined Dun Laoghaire Choral Society in early 2000s and we shared many happy times and great concert experiences. My sincere condolences to all of her family. May Jenny rest in peace.
I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Mrs Vella. She was the first person to greet my parents and I when we arrived at Glengara Park School and made us feel so welcome. She had grown up not far from my home in Co Wicklow. She was the face of the school and ran the office very efficiently. If you had a special request and got past Mrs Vella, meetings with the principal were child’s play! She really cared for the girls and watched out for us, especially the boarders. I’m very grateful for the many times she got us out of bother.
Thinking of you and sending my deepest sympathy to Suzanne and Annette and their families.
I offer my sincere sympathy to Suzanne, Dermot and family and the extended family on the passing of your mother and grandmother, Jenny. Thinking of you at this sad time.
On behalf of everyone in the DLLR Branch of Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind, we were very sad to hear of Jenny's passing and send our deepest condolences to all the family. Jenny was a woman we all loved and was a loyal and long-time member of the branch as one of its original founders some 40 years ago. She was always actively involved with our branch, as secretary for years, a Committee Member and always keen to help out with fundraising events. Her passing leaves a big void in our Branch and with so many of her IGDB friends. We will remember Jenny with great affection and admiration and she will be sadly missed by all. May she rest in peace.
My deepest condolences to the Nathan and family on the death of your Nana. She was such a beautiful, warm, and friendly lady. She will be sadly missed.
We sang in harmony for a long time and enjoyed the chat and crossword.
