I count myself fortunate to have been a pupil of Mr Walsh and coached by him along with Mr Coughlan and Mr Gleeson on the Sciath na Scol hurling and football teams. A natural teacher who inspired respect and affection and could have you laughing with his witty remarks and famous sayings.... "birds of a feather.... oh go bhfóire Dia orainn..."

It is with sadness and a sense of loss that I write this. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him. I will miss those chats and commentaries on the daily goings on in Blackrock and of course that legendary wit but above all his genuine concern for all.
