Our heartfelt sympathy to dear Pat on the passing of her beloved Gerry to whom her whole life has been dedicated.
It is over 50 years ago now since we first met them when all of us arrived in the newly built Woodbrook Lawn.
They and their children stood out as an exceptionally friendly and caring family who watched out for and befriended and protected all of us and our children. This is Gerry’s legacy.
Our hearts go out also to James, Daniel, Gary and Kevin. We share in their sadness but also in their great pride in their Dad and in their gratitude to him for passing on the best of himself to each of them to share with all of us.
People who have been granted glimpses of heaven while they are still here on earth report that the residents of heaven all say that each time they welcome a newcomer to heaven they experience all over again the incredible joy each of them had felt when they themselves arrived there - so thrilled are they to be welcoming a newcomer into their presence.
It is comforting for us to think of such heavenly joy at Gerry’s arrival there and to imagine it infinitely greater even than the joy and good fortune and gratitude we experienced at the arrival of Gerry and Pat and their family among us for the very first time over 50 years ago.
May your noble soul rest in place Gerry.
