Dear Finnuala, Eimear, Aileen, Diarmuid, David and Sean,
It was with great sadness we learned of Jerry’s passing. I am sure Jerry will be missed beyond words.

A strong link had been forged between Jerry and my Mom the late Maureen Russell. My Mom loved to visit with all the Russells. I can even remember as a child climbing up the stairs to visit Jerry’s Mom , Nell.
Jerry lived a vibrant and full life being actively involved in lots of activities and projects. I am sure you will cherish and treasure all these memories of him.
May Jerry’s soul rest in peace where he will be united with his beautiful Phyllis in the company of the angels and saints.

The many tributes already paid to Jerry on this Condolence Section are testament to his widespread popularity. His many talents, sense of humour and decency not forgetting that touch of 'divilment' were so well summarised by Finnuala at her Dad's funeral mass.

About 10 years ago I put my name on the YGC timesheet for a round of golf. When I got to course, Club Professional Liam Burns said "Jerry Russell has just phoned in looking for a slot, so, I put him down to play with you". I had never met Jerry before, but a mere few hours later I realised that I had been in the company of one of Youghal's great characters.
I have met Jerry many times since our first introduction and, as always, our chats they were sprinkled with humour and a genuine interest in 'how are you getting on'. His Sunday morning Las Vegas-like card therapy sessions in Youghal Golf Club are also legendary.
