and always came up with a plan to
solve a problem or issues.
He would say i will get back to you in 20mins if he didn't have the answer he would pass it on to someone else

I had the most interesting of evenings sitting next to Jim at the Valentia Island Cable lecture dinner in July this year. The fascinating comhrá flowed so easily . Fíor Chiarraíocht! Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

It’s hard to believe that we won’t see Jim walking home at lunch time with the Navy coat on him. I served on the Board of Management in Moyderwell with Jim and I can honestly say the wealth of knowledge Jim brought to the school. Have wonderful memories of Jim down through the years. Jim always worked hard to better Tralee and Kerry. Jim gave me a beautiful Encyclopaedia set when I was very young and I still have it. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time.

I always enjoyed meeting Jim down the years, he was a man in a million.
Always, curtious & helpful,no matter what the issue of concern might be.
One of the things I admired most about Jim was his intergrity he was above reproach from any quarter. It was always about you and never about him, in my first hand experience of Jim he did his best for everyone and made you feel special with his endearing term "my friend " of which he had many, people who liked and appreciated him and indeed his quite guidance and counsel. Again ,my deepest sympathies to his wife Sheila his son James daughters Jill & Orla sister Caroline and brother Danny. Jim's untimely passing will no doubt leave. huge void in your lives which i truly beleive wcan only be filled by all the good times you all shared with Jim down the years. May Jim now rest in eternal peace with the Lord and maker.

Solas síoraí air. I had the privilege of being in Fron-Goch in June 2024, when Jim unveiled the plaque to the Kerry Volunteers and the players in the Wolfe Tone Football Tournament. Our families go back a long way to Tarbert, and we have great memories as children calling to Jim's home place in the 1980's - May's wonderful scones and the warm welcome from Jim, Danny and Caroline. As kids, Jim had us nearly convinced that his car could fly and for a while we almost believed him. He will always be remembered with great fondness and affection in our household. My sincerest sympathies to Sheila, James, Jill, Orla, Danny & Caroline and all the Finucane and Sheehy families. I had the privilege of working with Jim for over 20 years. I never considered him as my "boss" he was a dear friend and one of the nicest people i know a true gent and a kerry man through and through. He was so kind, caring, funny and always there for everybody. He worked so hard in politics, auctioneering and so many outside projects helping people but his first love was always his family, of whom he was so incredibly proud of. I told him if i raise my children to be anything like his, i would be a happy woman. Its devastating that he was taken so quickly and so young. I consider myself lucky to have spent so many years in his incredible company, i learned so much from him and will be forever grateful. Jim you legend, rest in peace, you will never be forgotten, Love, Jean, Conor, Ella and Lauren Leahy
