Jim Foley

Sincere sympathies to Anne Marie, his partner Margaret, the extended Foley/Shannon families, and his circle of friends on the sad passing of Jim. May he rest in peace.

Jim had a great eye for Talent spotting and loved to compete in local tops of the town competitions always determined to take the show to the next level . He loved the Terrath tops group and one of his great achievements was to take the show to the bright lights in London to perform in the Spotted Dog in Cricklewood .
I was a member of the cast and will never forget the great fun we had on that trip.
The late Nicholas Crosbie rip was an avid video enthusiast . I recall a funny incident, when the show was over, he invited the audience to send messages to loved ones back home.
The excited audience thought it was an RTE camera crew travelling essentially to record the show and so the emotional requests came pouring in for messages to loved ones with tears streaming down their faces.
It was one of the most funniest moments on the tour.
We weren’t going to let Nicholas down as he was determined to return the following year to repeat it all over again.
Rest in peace dear friends. We will always remember you with great fondness as we hold such fun adventures deep in our hearts.

It was with a heavy heart that we learned of the passing of a great friend and real true legend with the death of the late Jim Foley. We offer our sincerest sympathies and condolences to his daughter Ann Marie, his partner Margaret and all jim's family relatives and friends. Jim was a real gentleman and someone who was held in the highest esteem in the parish and all surrounding areas, a man who was always willing to help out and someone who could solve the problem before it even happened. His story telling was something to behold and he always left you wondering whether he was telling the truth or not and he would always use the two words GODS TRUTH several times making it even harder not to believe him. What a wonderful helpful man and what a legacy of joy and laughter that he brought to everyone who knew him. It was heart breaking not to be able to go to Jim's wake and funeral but i will pay my respects as soon as I get home. May jim's gentle and caring soul now and forever rest in peace rest in peace. Sharing in your sorrow as you bid farewell to your Beloved Jim rip..
Jim was a wonderful and caring person in so many different ways.
His love of entertainment value ran deep through his veins and deep with in his soul.

This he tried to embrace , emulate encourage and inspire into the lives of so many young people in the area growing up and indeed to so many artists up and down the country.
The loss of his beloved young wife had a huge impact on the life of Jim and his young daughter at the time but Jim’s placid demeanour over came his grief and sadness and so invested his time, energy into his love of entertainment, thus leaving a great legacy in his native Ballykelly and beyond.

May the Lord comfort and give peace to those he leaves behind and graciously reward him for all his faithful endeavours , kindness , wisdom on earth and may he rest in peace.

I am so sorry to hear of Jim's passing. He was a great friend of mine for many years and it was always a pleasure to meet him at the dances. When I needed someone to play "Reilly" in my "Reillys Daughter" video he was the first one who came to mind and he played the part perfectly.
He was a proud Wexford man and will be missed by all who knew him.
May his gentle soul rest in peace.
